2008 TEAM LEAGUE NOW FORMING
3 PLAYERS PER TEAM
LEAGUE MISSION:
Our mission is to
help create an organized and competitive community-based table tennis
league. We provide players of all ages and playing level with
the opportunity to develop technical skills, make ever-lasting
friendships, and have a lifetime of fun!
LEAGUE DETAILS:
- FHTTC is hosting a fall table tennis league from
September 15 - December 16, 2008.
- Each team member shall have the opportunity to play
singles with each member of opposing teams two times, including one
doubles match.
- Each week league statistics will be available on-line
on fhttc.com.

record by matches and games and find your team's current
standing
at all times.
- Money prizes will be awarded to the top three teams
at the end of the 3-month league season (or sooner upon completion of
all league matches)
TEAM FORMATION:
- A team shall consist of three players. Two of these
three players will make up the doubles pairing. A team may
include up to 3 substitute players on its team roster.
- Team members' ratings shall fall into the following
rating groups:
a) first player
rating greater than 1950 or less if team chooses
b) second player rating between 1700-1950 or less
c) third player rating of 1700 or less
- If you do not have a rating but are interested in
playing on a team, you may stop by the club for an evaluation and
rating assignment.
- Players may come from other local TT clubs and can
intermingle (for example, you may have one member from Rochester, one
from Madison Heights, and one from Farmington Hills forming one team).
- Teams can be made up of male and female, all male or
all female.
- Doubles partners can change among each team per match
- Substitute is allowed as long as he/she is not on any
other team and his/her rating is not greater than rating range he/she
is substituting.
LEAGUE RULES
- Each team shall play every opposing team members two
times in the season.
- A match is played between two teams who will play
nine sets of singles against each other and one set of doubles.
- A set consists of the best of five games, played up
to eleven points, alternate server every two points.
- Nine sets shall be played singles and one doubles set
will be played making a total of ten sets. A team is awarded one point
for each set won with a maximum of ten points for each match.
- All matches must be held at the FHTTC on selected
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays (schedule to be published).
A $5 club charge applies per player per day.
- All league matches must be completed by December 16,
2008.
- A team postponing a match must give at least forty
eight hours notice to the opposing team and FHTTC.
- Scorecard must be signed by both team captains and
submitted to TT Director immediately following the match.
- If an entire team does not show up for a match
without prior notification, team shall be penalized by a loss of 10
points.
- If only one player shows up on behalf of the team,
again this will result in a forfeit and loss of 10 points.
- If two players shows up from one team, then players
are allowed to play. Sets not played will earn zero points.
ENTRY FEE
- Entry fee is to be paid upfront before league begins
on September 15th, 2008.
- Each team will pay $60.00 ($20 per player).
Team captain must submit a team application and entry fee to
David Kleshchik
- All monies collected will be used for prize money
- At the end of three months (or sooner upon completion
of all league matches), the top three ranking teams will receive a cash
reward – to be distributed as follows: 50% to first
place, 30% to
second place, and 20% to third place.
- Teams withdrawing from the League after the first
week of the season shall not receive a refund.
ENTRY FORM (APPLICATION):
- Forms may be printed from the FHTTC League
Information page.
- Please provide email address and contact phone number
of at least one member of the team on your application form.
- Team Captains are required to submit by mail or in
person one application form per team. List 3 team
member names and their rankings on your form. You may include
up to 3 substitute players and their ratings.
- You may submit your application with your cash/check entry fee in person. Make checks payable to David
Kleshchik, memo:
